Our founder, Chef Richard Turner, was a food enthusiast long before he started Turners restaurant. Born in Birmingham, Richard grew fed up with a lack of variety of options locally. At the time, the only way to experience diversity was to visit the local French deli or Luigi’s, the 5-star Italian specialty restaurant. Richard decided to take cooking courses in London and start his own restaurant.
When Turners started off, it focused on a small menu with diversity being the key focus. Each food item was individually crafted by Richard with the intent to be unique in itself.Richard’s love for Asian and Eastern European food led to him inventing fusion cuisines that were more “British-friendly”. We received positive reviews from our initial clients, however we were limited to the affluent client segment.
We remodeled ourselves to be appealing to every man and woman in Birmingham. Today we are the largest restaurant in terms of revenues in our county. We serve more than 200 customers on average daily. Our marketing initiatives and social media presence has led to us being declared Tripadvisor’s top 5 most recommended restaurants in the United Kingdom.
We aim to branch out to London and Manchester in the coming years, while at the same time keeping our core resources common across the branches to maintain quality and integrity.
